Bottle green and gold in Rumia
Wedding decoration at the Tequila restaurant in Rumia: bottle green and gold, a gate with flowers, tall compositions on stands and a green wall.
The bottle green was brightened by gold and bright flowers
This project was created in June 2024 at the Tequila restaurant in Rumia, for a wedding for about 60 guests. We were responsible for the room decoration and flowers. We based the palette on bottle green and gold, and both colors were accompanied by the whiteness of the room. Dark green and gold complement each other well: gold brings warmth and shine, and even small gold elements can be seen in the deep green. Flowers in light pink, peach and white brighten up this palette because they stand out clearly against a dark background. Fresh leaves and grasses add a lighter, vegetal shade of green.

The view from the side of the room includes decorations along the entire length of the interior. Long tables with white tablecloths are in rows, and the chairs have white covers. Flower arrangements rise high above the tableware on golden stands. In the background, behind the bride and groom's table, you can see a bottle-green wall. White walls, tablecloths and covers create a neutral background, so the color comes mainly from the green fabrics and gold of the stands. The photos also include elements of restaurant equipment that are not included in our work.

The Tequila restaurant in Rumia has two air-conditioned rooms
The Tequila restaurant is located in Rumia, at Dąbrowskiego Street, and has a monitored parking lot. There are two air-conditioned rooms, lower and upper, which differ in size. The lower one is intended for approximately 110 guests. The upper one seats approximately 74 people and is suitable for smaller parties. Each room has its own service facilities. In summer, air conditioning is also important for decorations, because cut flowers stay fresh longer in a cooler interior.

The first element of decoration that guests see when entering the hall is the gate. We wrapped the white frame with bottle green tulle, and on top we arranged a composition of pink and cream astilbe, carnations, eustoma and gypsophila. Fresh greenery and ornamental grasses appear between the flowers, whose light panicles and long blades give the composition movement. The tulle is thin and translucent, so even dark green does not turn the gate into a heavy shape. The gate also introduces the palette of the entire room, because the green fabrics and bright flowers then return on the tables and on the wall behind the couple's table.

The flowers on the guests' tables were above the line of sight
We placed bottle green table runners on the white tablecloths of the guests' tables. It is a crinkled, slightly creased fabric with a muslin texture, in which the green becomes darker in the folds and lighter in the protuberances. There are bottle green napkins on golden charger plates, tied in a loose knot. The knot arranges the napkin into folds similar to the ripples of a table runner. We brought table runners, table plates and napkins with us. Under the tall compositions there are golden pillar candles, some in glass covers.

The compositions on the guests' tables stand high, on golden, geometric stands made of thin rods. We arranged them with flowers in light pink, peach and white and with lots of fresh greenery and grass. The height serves a specific purpose here: the flowers are above the guests' line of sight. People on both sides of the table do not have to lean out from behind the composition to see each other. The openwork structure of the stand looks light, and the raised flowers leave space on the countertop for place settings and candles.

The front of the bride and groom's table was filled with low compositions and glass
We decorated the bride and groom's table differently than the guests' tables. Along its front, we arranged low compositions of roses, carnations, eustoma and gypsophila, and between them there were thin gold table candles in glass candlesticks. There is a couple sitting at this table, so the flowers at the front cannot cover it. The height is given by the wall with the garland, so the decoration can remain low on the countertop itself. Slender candles interrupt the horizontal line of flowers, and their gold is the same color as the charger plates and stands on the guests' tables.

Between the low compositions there are also small glass vases, each with a single rose or eustoma. Both species also appear in the compositions at the front and in the garland on the wall, and eustoma also appears on the gate at the entrance. A flower placed separately shows the petals up close, which get lost among the others in a dense composition. From above you can see how vases and candlesticks fill the spaces between the compositions. Thanks to this, flowers and glass run along the entire front without any gaps. Thin candles and small vases have a similar, small scale, so none of these elements stands out.

A green fabric with a cascade of flowers hung behind the couple's table
The wall behind the couple's table is made up of a bottle-green fabric hung on the wall of the room. At the top there is a cascading garland of roses, carnations, gypsophila, astilbe, eustoma and grasses. Long shoots of ruscus flow from it, so the greenery does not end at the upper edge, but runs down the fabric towards the table. The dark background brings out the light pink, cream and white of the garland, so the flowers can be clearly seen even from the end of the room. The green surface also separates the bride and groom's place in a bright interior and distinguishes their table from the tables of the guests.

Gold, openwork hoops in the shape of a hexagon, with leaves and the inscriptions "Wife" and "Husband", hang on the green fabric. The green of the fabric shines through their open form, and the gold only draws an outline on it. The inscriptions are legible up close, but from further positions the hoops can be seen as golden dots on the fabric. The golden stands on the guests' tables are similarly geometric and openwork. The wall also covers the view from the room. When you look deep into the interior, your eyes linger on the dark greenery behind the couple's table.

Setting up takes a few hours, and the fresh flowers stay with the couple
With such scope, assembly on the wedding day takes us several hours. First, we build the structures and hang the fabrics, because the rest of the decorations are based on them. We add glass and flowers to the prepared base, and place the candles at the very end, when it is easy to keep a distance from the petals and the material. We check the finished room twice: first from the entrance, where we can see it in its entirety, and then from the place at the guests' table. In the case of tall compositions, this second check is important because only from the perspective of a seated guest can you see whether the flowers are definitely above the line of sight.

The room was ready long before the guests arrived. We always leave some time aside because it gives us room for quiet corrections. We agree the time frame for assembly and disassembly with the facility before we start preparations in the studio. Access hours depend on the room, so we plan the day separately for each place. After the wedding, our decoration is divided into two parts: the one we take with us and the one that stays with the couple. We took candlesticks, fabrics, plates and a wall from the Tequila restaurant, and left the compositions of fresh flowers for the couple.

For bottle green and gold, we recommend starting with a fabric sample
There are various fabrics hidden under the name of bottle green, so decide on your choice only after viewing the sample in your room, once in daylight and once in the evening. During the day, such fabric is clearly green, and in the evening, under warm lighting, it can look almost black. For such a dark color, choose light flowers and a lot of white, which will balance it on the table. Don't skimp on fresh greenery and grasses, because they lead the eye from the light petals to the dark fabric. If the room has white walls and tablecloths, part of this balance is provided by the interior itself.

Don't overdo it with gold, because it is clearly visible even in small amounts on bottle green. It's better to spread them out a little bit throughout the room, in small items on the tables, than to concentrate them in one large element. Match the height of the composition to the role of the table. Guest tables can receive flowers raised on openwork stands, above the line of sight, and the couple's table can receive low compositions that will not hide you from the guests. Repeat the color of the fabrics at the entrance, on the tables and behind the couple's table, because then the bottle green unites the entire room.
