Beach dates in the Tricity
Author: Magdalena RabaWielki Dzień, a wedding decoration studio in the Tri-City
We will prepare a beach date in Gdańsk, Sopot or Gdynia: a picnic on blankets and cushions, dinner at a laid table overlooking the bay or a winter evening in lantern light. You order or bring the food, while we take care of the setting: blankets, a table, flowers and lighting.
- Beaches in Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia and Pomerania
- A picnic, dinner at a table or a winter date
- Travel costs from Gdańsk confirmed before booking
- Proposal and quote within 24 hours
Example beach date sets
The picnic and dinner options suit warm evenings, the anniversary or Valentine's set adds a stronger romantic theme, and the winter version is for when the beach empties and darkness falls early. We can change the colours, flowers and arrangement in each set, and choose the beach and time together with you.
Boho sunset picnic
A low table on blankets, cushions all around and lanterns for when the sun slips behind the city. Sandy beiges, dried grasses and seasonal flowers suit the beach, so the decorations complement the sea view rather than compete with it.
- A low table and blankets spread on the sand
- Cushions and seating in beige, caramel and white
- Lanterns with candles around the blanket
- A bouquet of dried grasses and seasonal flowers
- Plates and glasses for whatever you bring
Best for: Couples who want a romantic seaside picnic without carrying blankets or searching for a free spot, for example in Jelitkowo or Stogi.

A table and two chairs facing the sea, with a tablecloth, flowers and evening lighting. You order dinner from your favourite restaurant or bring your own, and the table is already laid for you.
- A table and two comfortable chairs overlooking the water
- A tablecloth, plates, cutlery and glasses
- A low floral centrepiece
- Candles in glass lanterns and battery-powered lights
- Throws over the chair backs for a cooler evening
Best for: Couples who prefer dinner at a table to a blanket, whether for a birthday, a first anniversary or an ordinary Friday with no special occasion.

A version with a clear romantic theme: a heart of lanterns on the sand, red roses or flowers that mean something to you, and a message in a bottle to open there. For Valentine's Day, we combine it with blankets and throws from the winter set.
- A heart or circle of lanterns around the blanket
- Red roses or your favourite flowers
- A bottle for a letter you write beforehand
- A blanket or low table with cushions
- Glasses to toast another year together
Best for: Couples celebrating a relationship or wedding anniversary who would rather spend the evening by the sea than in a restaurant.

In winter, the beach empties and it gets dark early, so warmth and light come first: thick blankets, throws, plenty of lanterns and fireside colours. Bring your own flask of hot tea or cocoa.
- Thick blankets, throws and cushions to sit on
- A windbreak to shelter you
- Plenty of lanterns and battery-powered lights
- Decorations in burgundy, rust and gold
- A picnic basket for your flask
Best for: Couples who love the sea out of season and want a date by the water without the crowds, including on Valentine's Day.

These sets are a starting point rather than a fixed price list: we tailor each one to your date, venue, colours and number of guests, and you can combine elements from different sets.
Ideas for a seaside date
A city beach or a wilder one?
Brzeźno, Jelitkowo and the area around Sopot pier have a promenade and cafés close by, making it easy to finish your date with a walk or dessert in town. Stogi, and even more so Sobieszewo, are quieter and wilder, though the walk from the car park to the sand is usually longer, through woodland and dunes.
Below the cliff in Orłowo
The beach below Orłowo Cliff is narrower and more intimate than the area around Sopot pier. In the afternoon, the cliff quickly casts shade over the sand, so we use more lanterns here for evening dates.
Sunset over the bay
The beaches in Gdynia, Sopot and Jelitkowo face east, so the sun sets behind the city while the sky above the bay turns pink. In summer, from Stogi or Sobieszewo, you can see the sun disappear on the far side of the bay, behind Sopot and Gdynia.
A message in a bottle
Give us a letter for your partner beforehand and we will roll it up and place it in a corked glass bottle waiting beside the blanket. You can read it straight away or take it home to open on your next anniversary.
Your own playlist
A small speaker and a playlist of songs that mean something to you turn a picnic into a romantic date. Bring your own speaker and keep the volume low, as other people may be relaxing nearby.
A bouquet to take home
Instead of petals that the wind might carry away, we can prepare a separate hand-tied bouquet for you to take home after your date. In a vase, it will remind you of the evening for several more days.
Seaside weather and a backup plan
A seaside picnic depends on the weather more than dinner in town: the wind can change quickly, and petals, napkins and lightweight decorations are the first things to blow away. On the beach, we therefore use battery-powered lanterns, choose heavier blankets and cushions, and arrange the flowers low beside the blanket. We check the forecast with you the day before and make the final decision on the day, a few hours before installation.
We agree on a backup plan when you book: this might be a covered terrace, a friend's garden, your balcony or living room, where we can move the blankets, lanterns and flowers. If it rains or the wind is strong, we decorate the alternative location and let you know before you leave home.
Choosing a beach and a time
In summer, the beaches by Sopot pier, in Brzeźno and in Jelitkowo remain busy until late afternoon. A date in Gdańsk or Sopot is therefore quieter just before sunset, when beachgoers pack away their windbreaks. Out of season, the same places empty out and almost any time works, provided you allow for a little daylight or plenty of lanterns.
Think about access as well: the walk from the car park or public transport stop to the sand can be quite long, and dune paths can be dark after sunset. Tell us whether you will arrive by car, public transport or taxi, and we will suggest a beach entrance close to your blanket and a time when the light photographs best.
What determines the price of a beach date?
The choice of set makes the biggest difference: a blanket picnic needs less equipment than a table with chairs, while a winter version needs more blankets, throws and lighting. Other factors are the flowers and their season, the number of lanterns, extras such as a message in a bottle, and whether a backup setup at another location is needed.
The time of day matters too, because it determines installation and collection times, which we agree with you when you book. We price each date for the chosen day and beach, so we do not publish a fixed price list.

Refining the details

Decorating on site
We arrive early, set everything up and leave before you arrive. We agree in advance when we will return to collect the decorations.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a beach date cost?
The price depends on the set, flowers, number of lanterns and extras, and whether a backup setup at another location is needed. Tell us the date, beach or area and time of day, and we will reply within 24 hours with a proposal and quote.
Do we pay separately for travel to the beach?
Yes, travel is charged separately. We set out from our studio in Gdańsk and include the travel cost in the proposal alongside the decoration quote from the start, whether your date is in Gdynia or Sopot, on the Hel Peninsula or on a beach in Łeba.
What if it rains or is very windy on the day?
When you book, we agree on a backup location: a terrace, garden or flat where we can move the decorations. We decide on the change together after checking the forecast and before we start installation.
Will you prepare food for the beach date?
We do not cook or deliver food. You order or bring dinner or snacks yourselves, perhaps a takeaway from your favourite restaurant, and we prepare the table or blanket where you can lay it out.
Will someone take photographs of us on the beach?
We do not provide a photographer, but you can invite your own. Tell us about them when booking, and we will arrange the decorations to give them good light and space to work.
What candles do you use on the beach?
We mainly use battery-powered lanterns on the beach, as the wind cannot blow them out. We add real candles, always in glass lanterns, only in calm weather and where beach rules allow them. We agree installation and collection times with you in advance.
Can you prepare a seaside date in winter too?
Yes. In winter, the beach is empty and peaceful, but it gets dark early. We add blankets, throws and a windbreak and choose the time so you can catch the last daylight.
