Floral wedding styling at Kalinówka

Decorations for a wedding reception in Gdańsk, built around floral arrangements in shades of white and pink.

Up close

Together with the couple, we chose a light palette of white and pink

In 2026, we prepared the setting for a wedding reception in Kalinówka in Gdańsk. We took care of the hall decoration and wedding floristry, and the whole thing was based on a flower composition in shades of white and pink. The couple and I decided on this bright, floral palette together. For us, colors are not something that is chosen at the end. This is the first decision that determines flowers, accessories and what the room looks like when guests enter it.

The starting point were shades of white and pink and inspirations sent by the couple. Such materials tell us more than a long description. These are usually photos of decorations, flowers or interiors that the couple likes. We look for a common denominator in them. We check whether lightness or abundance prevails, how much green there is and how light the pink should be. Only then can the palette be translated into specific flowers and accessories.

Kalinówka combines a room with a fireplace and a garden by the Strzyża River

Kalinówka is a wedding hall in Matemblewo, Gdańsk, located in a closed area with a parking lot. The main interior is a room with a fireplace, and when the guest list grows, in summer there is also a possible option with a tent in the garden. It is always worth confirming the exact number of places directly with the facility. The facility has its own kitchen where pasta, desserts and cakes are made on site. It fits well for rustic, garden and intimate parties.

In Kalinówka, the garden with a lawn and wooden terraces on the Strzyża River has a lot to offer. An outdoor ceremony can be organized on the premises, so the wedding, wishes and dinner can take place in one place and guests do not have to travel anywhere. The garden is also a good place for group photos and a couple's session right after the ceremony. In our opinion, natural decorations, i.e. greenery, seasonal flowers, linen and wood, go well with the fireplace and terraces.

We choose white and pink flowers with proportions in mind

White and pink are a seemingly simple combination, but each of these colors has many shades. White can be cool, creamy or slightly greenish, and pink ranges from soft blush to vivid, warm shades. Therefore, with such a palette, the effect is determined by the proportions. We determine which color leads and which complements it. The predominance of white gives the impression of lightness and light. More pink makes the decoration warmer and softer.

We like to choose seasonal flowers because they are usually in good condition and naturally match the season in which the wedding takes place. Many species bloom in white and pink, so this palette gives a lot of freedom in different seasons. We balance the compositions with delicate green, which separates the colors from each other and prevents the white from looking flat. We also take care of various textures, so that lighter, more airy forms appear next to full, smooth flowers.

We matched the accessories to the nature of the party

We matched the flowers and accessories to the nature of the party. The same palette looks different at a casual wedding and at a gala dinner, so the form and scale of the decorations must correspond to how the guests spend their time. White and pink fit well in both conventions, you just need to consciously choose the setting for them. In a relaxed atmosphere, compositions may look as if they were picked straight from the garden. Order and symmetry work better for ceremonial occasions.

Accessories are everything that surrounds the flowers and creates a mood around them, for example fabrics, candles or light. With a light palette, we make sure that the accessories support the compositions and do not distract attention from them. An element in the same tone as the flowers ties the decoration together, and one clearer accent can enliven it. We relate every change to common assumptions, so everything remains harmonious, even when the scope increases.

We build the concept step by step, conversation by conversation

We start each project with a conversation. We ask about the place, the course of the day, favorite colors and what the couple would prefer to avoid. Together we look through inspirations and then prepare the first concept proposal with a color palette. We treat it as a starting point. It shows direction, but leaves room for questions and changes that come over time when the couple begins to see the room in specific colors and flowers.

Subsequent conversations clarify the scope: which places in the room we decorate, what form the wedding flowers should take and how the accessories combine with the palette. At this stage, we select specific flowers and fabrics, check what will be available in a given season, and plan the assembly. In Kalinówka, we developed the scope of decorations during subsequent arrangements, and we completed the implementation in accordance with the agreed concept. This rhythm of work gives the couple peace of mind because they know in advance what to expect.

We start the assembly in the Gdańsk hall with a plan

At weddings in Gdańsk and the surrounding area, installation usually takes place on the day of the reception. We agree with the facility in advance when the room is available, where we will bring the decorations and how to coordinate our work with the preparations of the staff. We prepare the flowers in advance so that they are fresh and well-developed on the wedding day. We bring them to the room together with accessories, arranged according to the table plan and other places to be decorated.

In the room we place larger elements, table compositions and small accessories. Finally, we look at the room from the entrance, as guests will see it, and correct what looks different in the interior light than in the studio. We work so that the room is ready in time before the guests start arriving. After the reception, we return for disassembly on the date agreed with the facility and take everything we brought.

We tell you how to plan a floral wedding in Gdańsk

When collecting inspirations, write down what exactly you like: color, amount of greenery, height of the composition. Determine whether the palette should be white or pink, and what shade of pink you have in mind, because blush and vivid pink give a completely different effect. Do this before choosing wedding flowers so that the bouquet and room decorations speak one language. Also visit the room at the time of day you are planning the party, because the white and pink colors change with the light.

Tables and chairs by the windows overlooking the garden

If you choose Kalinówka and a ceremony in the garden, remember that the garden creates the scenery itself. Often, one well-placed decoration is enough, for example an arch of greenery and white flowers on the lawn next to the terraces. When the guest list requires a tent, plan it with the same flowers, fabrics and warm light as in the hall, so that both spaces create one whole. The cakes are made in the facility's kitchen, so it is worth determining the color of the cake early so that the flowers on the sweet table can replicate it. Regardless of the room, leave room for changes, because the concept matures during subsequent conversations.
