Wedding decorations at Sheraton Sopot

Styling for a wedding reception in the Baltic Panorama room in Sopot.

Up close

At Baltic Panorama, we focused on a light setting

We prepared decorations for the wedding reception in the Baltic Panorama room at the Sheraton Sopot hotel. The starting point was a simple, light setting, adapted to the space and the planned table arrangement. In this case, lightness does not mean modesty or lack of ideas. It's about decoration that complements what the interior already has, instead of overpowering it with new elements. And in a room with a sea view, every addition must have its justification.

In practice, this meant clear accents against the background of arched windows and a calm setting for the rest of the room. A hoop and a tall golden stand with flowers in white, pink and pastel shades appeared near the windows - forms that do not block the view. Round tables and chairs with white covers created a clean, orderly whole around them. We want this setting to look good from every place in the room, not just from one frame.

Sheraton Sopot combines a view of the pier with comfortable accommodation

Sheraton Sopot is a five-star hotel at the Sopot pier, which offers couples several rooms. The Baltic Panorama room was opened in 2016 in the rotunda of the former Spa House. It measures 265 m², seats up to 150 people at tables, and its windows overlook the pier and the bay. The hotel also has Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus and Vasco da Gama rooms, so you can organize both medium and large weddings here.

There are also many purely practical advantages. There are 189 rooms on site, so visiting guests can stay overnight and do not have to look for transportation after the party is over. There is a private terrace next to the ballroom with a view of the pier. You can raise a toast there, take a photo together or just take a break between courses. You can get married outdoors here, so the ceremony and reception can take place in one place.

The decoration here gives way to the view of the sea

Arched windows overlooking the sea are something in this room that no decoration can replace. The arches themselves frame the pier and the bay, and the image behind the glass changes with the light of day. If we built the windows with dense compositions or a compact wall of flowers, we would take away from the guests something that is a natural part of the setting. Therefore, in such interiors, the decoration consciously gives way to the view and only emphasizes it.

A chair with a bow by the window overlooking the lantern

In rooms with such a view, we start by asking what not to cover. For windows, we choose open or highly raised forms that do not create a tight curtain in front of the glass. We also check the room from the height of the chair, because for most of the reception guests view it while sitting. A composition that seems light from the walkway can cover a large part of the window at the table, and in such a place it would be a real waste.

The hoop and golden stand stood in front of the arched windows

We placed a ring of white and pink flowers near the arched windows. It is an open form that does not close the view, but frames it, so the sea becomes part of the composition. The round shape goes well with window arches and round tables, so the hoop does not look like an element glued to the room. White and pink are gentle to the eye and do not compete with what is happening behind the glass.

The second strong point was a tall golden stand with white and pastel flowers, also against the background of windows overlooking the sea. The stand raises the flowers above the level of the tables, so they are clearly visible from various places in the room, and at the same time they do not isolate the interior from the window. Gold adds a warm glow to the whole, but in the company of bright flowers it remains delicate. White connects both compositions, and pink and pastel tones make them soft.

At round tables, what matters is the conversation and the view

The room was furnished with round tables, chairs with white covers and flower arrangements. It's a simple set, but very nice in an interior with such a view. White covers even out the appearance of the chairs and quiet the room, so the eye does not stop at the little details but goes on to the flowers and windows. This uniform rhythm organizes the space before anyone looks at the details, and means that the compositions do not have to fight for attention.

Round tables facilitate conversation because everyone can see everyone else. That's why we make sure that the flowers on such a table do not separate the guests from each other or from the view outside the windows. We knew the planned table layout, so we designed the decorations with a specific setting in mind, not an empty room. We also make sure that nothing obstructs the passages, because the comfort of guests and staff is part of a job well done.

We talk to the couple and agree on the installation with the hotel

We refined the scope of the decorations in direct contact with the couple before the August wedding in 2025. This is how we always work, because the decoration has to suit specific people. We start with a conversation and the inspirations that the couple brings with them, and then we create a concept and a color palette. On this basis, we select flowers and textiles, checking how each idea will behave in a given interior.

In hotels, we arrange installation with the facility staff. We determine when we can enter the room, where we bring the decorations and when everything should be ready. The facility's employees know the room inside and out, so their tips are very helpful. The installation itself usually takes place on the wedding day, thanks to which the flowers look fresh throughout the reception. After the party, we go back to the disassembly and take everything we brought so that the staff can immediately take care of the room.

What is worth checking before a wedding in a hotel by the sea

Look around the room at the time of day when the party is scheduled to start and ask what it looks like after dark. As long as it's light, the sea view itself does a lot of the decoration, but in the evening the windows darken and this image disappears. It is then worth having light on the tables, for example candles in glass covers, which take over the role of the view. By the way, check whether the hotel allows open fire and in what form.

For an outdoor wedding, the ceremony decoration must be light but stable in the wind from the sea. Ask if the flowers from the ceremony can then be sent to the room, because then they will stay with you until the end of the reception. Place the background for photos against a full wall rather than in front of the glass, because faces appear dark against the light and the view is obscured anyway. If there is a terrace next to the room, decide in advance whether it will remain undecorated or receive its own, small setting.
