Garden party: decorations for your outdoor celebration

Author: Magdalena RabaWielki Dzień, a wedding decoration studio in the Tri-City

We will prepare decorations for a garden party near Gdańsk, at a holiday plot in Kashubia or on a terrace in Sopot: a birthday, name day, family reunion, summer company gathering or post-wedding celebration. The table matters most, as that is where guests spend the most time, followed by the entrance, a welcome drinks area and a place for photos. From the outset, we agree a rain plan with you using shelter you already have, such as a pergola or gazebo.

  • Gardens across the Tri-City and Pomerania
  • Travel costs stated in the initial quote
  • A rain plan agreed from the outset
  • A proposal and quote within 24 hours

Garden party decoration packages

Every package starts with the table, with the remaining details tailored to the occasion and the size of the garden. You arrange the tables, chairs, shelter and food; we bring the decorations.

  • A long table in the garden

One long table or several arranged in a row, with a runner and flowers in bottles and low vases. The simplest way to give ordinary garden tables a special-occasion feel.

    • A runner or tablecloth along the full length of the table
    • Seasonal flowers in bottles and low vases
    • Candles in glass holders and lanterns for the evening
    • Napkins and small details in your party colours
    • Festoon lights above the table, if there is somewhere to hang them

Best for: Hosts who already have tables and chairs and are looking for table decorations for a garden party.

  • A garden birthday

A birthday or name-day celebration on the lawn: a decorated table, a backdrop for group photos and styling around the cake table. We will choose colours to suit the person celebrating.

    • Flowers and candles for the guest table
    • A floral or balloon photo backdrop with a name or age
    • Flowers and a backdrop by the cake table
    • Lanterns along the path from the garden gate
    • Flowers to present to the person celebrating

Best for: Families celebrating a loved one's birthday or name day in a garden at home or at a holiday plot.

Ask about this set: A garden birthday
  • A family reunion

Several generations around one very long table or several smaller ones. Decorations help guests find their seats and provide a backdrop for a group photograph.

    • Runners and flowers on every table
    • Place cards with names or signs naming branches of the family
    • A photo backdrop for all the generations
    • A welcome area at the garden entrance
    • Festoon lights for the evening

Best for: People organising a family reunion in a home garden or at a holiday plot who want to bring several generations together around one table.

Ask about this set: A family reunion
  • A summer company gathering

Decorations for a company garden, restaurant garden or rented house that reflect your brand without feeling like a trade fair. Flowers, lighting and a photo area for a summer afternoon with your team.

    • Flowers in glass vases and candles on every table
    • Decorations for the welcome drinks area
    • A photo backdrop in company colours
    • Lanterns and festoon lights for the evening
    • Decorations for the garden entrance

Best for: Companies inviting employees or clients to a summer garden gathering who want the venue to feel prepared especially for them.

These sets are a starting point rather than a fixed price list: we tailor each one to your date, venue, colours and number of guests, and you can combine elements from different sets.

Garden party ideas

  • Flowers in bottles instead of one large arrangement

A dozen or so small vases and bottles work better on a long table than one large centrepiece. Flowers are then close to every place setting without hiding faces, and they can be moved during the party to make room for serving dishes.

  • Blush pink, mint and rattan

For a summer party, we suggest a blush-pink tablecloth, mint napkins and rattan charger plates, with pampas grass and small flowers in bottles. It is a calm palette that works well against greenery and does not clash with colourful tableware.

  • Lighting for a long evening

Garden parties often continue until dusk, so we plan the decorations for the evening too: festoon lights above the table, lanterns on the lawn and candles in glass holders between the flowers. The lights need somewhere to hang, such as a pergola, trees or parasols, and a power supply, so we ask about these when preparing the quote.

  • A welcome area by the gate

We can decorate a welcome drinks table at the garden entrance with flowers, a sign naming the celebration and a few lanterns. Guests know where to go as soon as they arrive, and you do not have to stay by the gate.

  • A photo backdrop using what already grows in the garden

A good photo backdrop is often already there: a hedge, an old tree or an ivy-covered wall. Add a floral or balloon garland and a sign, and guests will naturally gather for photographs.

  • A post-wedding celebration in your parents' garden

A second day of wedding celebrations in the garden does not need the same styling as a wedding venue. We suggest a table with flowers in bottles, a few lanterns and festoon lights, using colours from the wedding so that photographs from both days work together.

A rain plan: shelter you already have

We cannot order the weather, so for every garden party we ask from the start where guests will take shelter if it rains. We adapt the decorations to the cover you have: a terrace, pergola, gazebo, shelter or marquee.

We prepare table arrangements so they can be moved quickly, and place candles in lanterns and glass holders because exposed flames go out easily in the wind. Festoon lights are best hung under cover. If the forecast is poor on the day, we set up some of the decorations straight away where the party will move to anyway.

Decorating a garden party table, step by step

We begin with fabrics: a runner or tablecloth sets the colour for the whole table and hides differences between tables placed together. Next, we arrange flowers in bottles and low vases at intervals along its full length, leaving space between them for serving dishes, jugs and plates.

Finally, we add candles, napkins and small details such as herb sprigs or place cards, with festoon lights above the table. We keep flowers low enough for guests on either side to see one another without peering around a bouquet, and avoid strongly scented flowers near food.

What determines the cost of garden party decorations

The table is the starting point: its length and the number of place settings tell us most about how many flowers, candles and fabrics to bring. Other factors include the flower varieties and month of the party, the number of areas beyond the table, such as the entrance, welcome area and photo backdrop, and lighting if the party will continue after dark.

If possible, include a few photographs of the garden and the spot where the table will stand. They help us see straight away how much decoration is needed.

How we work

  1. Tell us what you are planning

The occasion, date, venue and approximate number of guests. A photo of the venue, garden or beach is very helpful.

  2. Proposal and quote

We will get back to you within 24 hours with a proposal and quote. Travel costs from Gdańsk are included in the quote from the start, so you know the full amount before booking.

  3. Refining the details

We work with you to choose colours, flowers, signs and accessories, so the set suits your venue and occasion.

  4. Decorating on site

We deliver and install the decorations before your celebration. We agree installation and collection times with you in advance and, if the party is at a venue, with its staff as well.

Frequently asked questions

How much do garden party decorations cost?

There is no single rate. The length of the table and number of guests matter most, followed by the flowers, season and whether the party will continue after dark. Send us the date, address or town and approximate guest count, and we will reply with a proposal and quote within 24 hours.

Do you travel to gardens outside the Tri-City?

Yes, from Kashubia to Kociewie, including the areas around Kartuzy and Skarszewy. Travel from Gdańsk is charged separately, and we state the cost in the initial offer alongside the decoration quote.

What if it rains on the day?

At the outset, we agree where the party will move if it rains: onto a terrace, under a pergola, into a gazebo or into a marquee if you are putting one up. Table decorations can be moved quickly, so a change of plan does not mean celebrating without flowers.

Do you provide a marquee, tables, chairs or catering?

No. We bring flowers, table fabrics, lanterns, festoon lights and a photo backdrop. You arrange the marquee, furniture and food yourselves or through a hire company and caterer. We will adapt the decorations to what will be in the garden.

Can you decorate just the garden party table?

Yes, the table alone is our simplest package. You can add the entrance, welcome area or photo backdrop later, or leave them out.

Can you decorate a post-wedding celebration in the garden?

Yes. For a second day of wedding celebrations in your parents' garden or at a holiday plot, we will prepare a table and photo backdrop in colours that echo the wedding.

Will the table decorations get in the way of eating?

They should not, because we plan them alongside space for serving dishes and jugs. The flowers are low, and bottles and vases are easy to move when food arrives at the table.
